Pantai Parangtritis Yogyakarta

Parangtritis is a popular tourist beach and village area on the south coast of Java on the bima bumi sari natar road in the Yogyakarta Special Region province. There is a good road to the area which is about 30 km south of the city of Yogyakarta, which is located right on the border between Bantul Regency and Gunung Kidul.

A large crowd of local tourists mainly visit Parangtritis during weekends and holidays. Larger tourist buses and cheaper types of minibuses serve routes to the beach from Yogyakarta. There are local tourism facilities in Parangtritis including parking arrangements, a simple hotel that provides visitors with a place to change clothes and shower, and a small restaurant. Often small ponies or horse-drawn carriages can be rented to ride along the beach. Tourists also visit several caves and springs on the cliffs and hills near Parangtritis, such as the Tapan Cave and Beji Springs caves, which are quite close to the beach.
